Dear Dave and family, I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
I don’t believe that I ever encountered Kathy that she didn’t have a smile on her face. She was always kind, and had a great sense of humor.
God must have needed another nurse, who was an Angel as well.

Dear Stratton family,
We were blessed to work with Kathy for many years at KPH. Her kindness, compassion and caring for not only the patients but also for us, her “work family” was so very appreciated, and such a wonderful example of how to truly care for each other.
We will remember her in our hearts with her beautiful smile.
God bless your entire family.

I remember Kathy as a student nurse at Bronson when she worked with me on one of the units. She was kind , compassionate and her smile made a lifetime impression on me. I worked at the state hospital from 1963-1966,too. We would see each other in passing when shopping and enjoyed catching up. Treasure your memories of a lovely person.

So sorry to hear about Kathy’s illness and passing. She was a wonderful person, and we shared some good times when we were young and some difficult times through our bouts with breast cancer. Lois and Kathy both provided great comfort and strength to women over the years in the Borgess Pipp “Just Ours” Breast Cancer Support Group and as volunteers and participants in Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Kathy will be greatly missed by many, and we will dearly cherish our memories of her.

I had the pleasure of working for and with Kathy over the years at KPH. So many times she was the voice of calm and reason when things went south. Kathy was quite compassionate and very good and fair to staff and the patients. KPH is a VERY tough place to work and keep your head on straight. Kathy handled it quite well. What a great soul, who gained so much in this lifetime…….well done!

My husband just told me and I’m in shock!! I loved Kathy so, so much !!! She was a wonderful Christian example to me . She mentored me and her staff was very important to her. I knew when she gave me advise , it was from her honest heart! I respected her for her character, how she treated others, she would endlessly talk about her family, in a way that made me feel like my family too. She was so , so proud of Dave , her children, her mother, and grandchildren ! No words to describe her goodness or her beautiful legacy!

I was saddened to learn of Kathy’s passing. I worked with her for many years at KPH and she was always one of the bright spots, no matter how difficult the day might become. Her calm demeanor, cheerful attitude, and common-sense handling of some very problematic situations made her a favorite to work with. My condolences go out to her family for their great loss.
