June Simon
June E. Simon of Galesburg, MI passed away Monday, February 09, 2015 in Kalamazoo. She was born in East Grand Rapids on December 20, 1923 to Frank and Mildred (Joy) Campbell. June grew up in Otsego, MI. She retired from James River Corp. June enjoyed traveling, knitting, gardening, reading and doing puzzles. She was a longtime member of the Galesburg Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children, Ronald Smith of Galesburg, MI, Gail Sutton of Richland, MI, Stephen (Gailen) of GA and Thomas (Rhonda) Smith of Portage, MI; grandchildren, Russ (Kris) Smith, Scott Smith, Sherry Sanford, Skip (Dani) Smith, Shawna Sutton, Ron (Heather) Sutton, Chris (Anne) Smith, Jeremy (Deb) Smith, Tony (Kate) Smith, Shannon Wellington, Amy (Jason) Gilmer, Tracy (Jeff) Nytray and Mandy (Ryan) Muck; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Doreen) Campbell of Charlotte, MI and several nieces and nephews.
June was preceded in death by her son, Michael “Mick” Smith; sister, Joy Ryon and by her parents.
Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at
Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, MI
with Pastor Dan Miner and June’s family members officiating.
