Joyce U. Carnes

Joyce U. Carnes of Otsego, MI passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Maplewood of Sandy Creek in Wayland.

She was born April 4, 1929 in Chicago, the daughter of Raymond and Lillian (Richards) Lanterman.  For many years Joyce worked as an LPN at Borgess and Bronson Hospitals. She loved caring for, showing and riding her horses. She enjoyed trail riding and had ridden across Michigan many times. She also enjoyed traveling and had visited many countries and was a member of the Escapees RV Club. On December 20, 1947 she was married to George Carnes Jr.

Surviving are her son, George Carnes of Kalamazoo and several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Rebecca Carnes.

According to her wishes cremation has taken place.

Burial of ashes will take place at Whipple Cemetery in Big Rapids in the spring.

This is Kimberly Dines, the granddaughter of Joyce. Her other grandchild is Ryan Hayden. Our grandmother will be missed. She was loved.

I am Karyn Stroven I am a niece of Joice and George carnes. We went to cemetery and we saw that Joice had passed away and was saddened by it. We just had a family reunion and would of liked to ha e the family invited. No one knew of her passing. My phone number is 231 9246285 or 231 5191688. I would love to her from the family
