Joseph Gauthier of Plainwell, MI passed away suddenly,
Tuesday, November 21, 2006
. Joe was born
September 1, 1960
in Plainwell, the son of Joe and Beverly (Barber) Gauthier. For the past nine years Joe was employed with Perrigo’s of Allegan. He enjoyed coaching rocket football, was an assistant defensive coach for the Jaguars football team and was an assistant coach for the boy’s tennis team. Joe’s passion was making homemade wine and every September he took a group out to pick grapes.
He loved to watch his children at any sports activity they participated in.
He enjoyed the yearly camping and fishing trips to
Dublin
. In the fall, you could always count on a Friday night bonfire at his home. On
May 22, 1982
, he married Jeanne Holmes, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Ben (Tracy) Gauthier of California, Tim Gauthier and Danielle Cobble of Plainwell, Rachel Gauthier of Allegan; his grandson, Thor. Joe had a special place in his heart for Max. Also surviving are his mother, Beverly Gauthier of Otsego; 9 sisters and brothers, Kim (Glenn) Merica of Plainwell, Suzanne Burmeister of Plainwell, George (LuAnne) Gauthier of Kalamazoo, Gary Gauthier of Otsego, Sherry Gauthier of Plainwell, Natalie Gauthier of Plainwell, Jackie (Rob) Bryan of Otsego, Sally (Bill) Sunnerville of Otsego, Diane ‘Dee’ Edney of Otsego; his in-laws Ron and Donna Holmes and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Gauthier and his grandparents, George and Nettie Gauthier and Carl and Helen Barber.
Friends may meet the family from 2-4 and
6-8 P.M.

Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, w
here a Rosary Service will be held at
7 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret’s Church, Otsego will be celebrated Saturday at
11:00 A.M.
, Rev. Father Donald P. Klingler, Celebrant. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Otsego Rocket Football.
