John Vastbinder
John VastBinder of Otsego passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Allegan.
Mr. VastBinder was born January 18, 1930 in Battle Creek the son of Dudley and Dorothy VastBinder. John served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War and had worked for Kellogg’s, St. Regis Paper and the Battle Creek Federal Center. On October 11, 1980 he married Ginny Figel who survives. Also surviving are his children, John VastBinder Jr., Greg VastBinder and Scott VastBinder.
Friends may meet with his family Tuesday, January 7, 2014, from 1-2 PM at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where a Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM with his family officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta at a later time. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of John may be made to

or the church of your choice.

John was a wonderful man with a good sense of humor. His relaxed style was a perfect complement to Ginny and I know he will be dearly missed. I am so happy I had the chance to get know him. My condolences to Ginny and the rest of his family.
