John Arthur ‘Johnny’ Laster of Plainwell passed away Saturday, November 19, 2011 in Allegan. Mr. Laster was born May 17, 1918 in Scobey, Mississippi to Benjamin and Ruth (Denmun) Laster.
He served in the Army in Germany during WW II. Johnny was a Boy Scout leader, enjoyed camping, hunting and riding his tractors. He retired from Eaton Mfg. then worked for Midwest Motors.
Surviving are his children, Jack (Teri) Laster of Chase, Jan (Russ) Chapman of Plainwell, Jim Laster of Allegan and Jerry (Fran) Laster of Plainwell; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife Charlene in 2000 and 2 brothers, Eugene and Ben Eddy Laster.
Friends may visit with Johnny’s family from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the
Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego
, where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, Pastor Ray Brown officiating. Military Honors by V.F.W. Post 3030. Cremation will follow. Contributions in memory of Johnny may be made to the Memory Care Unit Allegan Co. Medical Care Community.
