Jim, James, Jessica and family. We are so sorry that Joann has passed. We will certainly miss coming up the hill with her big smile and knock, knock. We were so excited when you moved up here and became our neighbors. She left us way to soon but is no longer suffering. Until we meet again. Fly high.

Our hearts are all broken, Joann was my sister in so many ways. We loved her so much. When she married Jim we all felt her love and giving spirit right away, it just at came so natural for her. We had so many good times together. She loved her family, her work and her friends. We are all sad to have lost her so soon but we know she is in Gods loving arms now. Until we see each other again, Sis. Love and hugs

I am saddened to hear of Joann’s passing. We spent our early years at Western as roommates. I have many wonderful memories of that time spent with her. Joann was such a creative person and had unbelievable patience…even to teach me how to crochet! I am confident that the loving memories that Joann has left you will help you cope with her loss. This world has certainly lost a kind and loving soul. Our blessings of comfort and healing to your family from my family.
Fondly,
Carol, Jill, Michele, and Kathryn

In 1973 Stan and I met Jim and Joann. We have been friends ever since. We have shared in each others happy times including the births of our children and grandchildren, graduations and weddings, Golden wedding anniversaries retirement parties for each other. We have shared holidays, picnics, camping trips (including our favorite place to camp ( “Camp Lumbard” ) Joann loved to have bonfires when we camped at their house. Sometimes the men joined us and sometimes Joann and I would sit by the fire and chat until late at night. Most often we would visit each other and share a meal or go to McDonalds for coffee, occasionally eating out at a “real restaurant.” Sometimes we would go to McDonalds for coffee and visit so long we’d walk over to Pizza Hut for dinner. When we got done with our visit Joann and I often called each other when we got home because we still had more to say. Of course they were aunt and uncle to our children. Joann and I called or texted each other several times a week, especially when one of us was out of state for awhile. We shared photos of projects we were working on, discussed health issues, shared stories about or children and grandbabies, even stories about our grand dogs. We often compared notes on caring for aging parents and even becoming aging parents ourselves. We held each other up during sad times, rejoiced in each others successes, and celebrated each others happy times. We were thrilled when Jim and Joann were able to attend Jessica and Jon’s wedding August 27th. Thank you so much James and Sherrie for hosting a “family picnic”. the day after the wedding. Joann and I had a long talk, then we gathered together at the picnic table for a delicious meal provided by the bride and groom and James and Sherrie. We enjoyed a “good old fashioned picnic” (as Jo put it) with Jessica and Jon, Jim and Joann and James and Sherrie.
We are praying that the wonderful memories we all share will comfort you all and we want you to know that we are here to support you and offer our love and condolences.
