Joan B. Kramnic

Joan B. Kramnic of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2008 in Alamo. Joan was born September 18, 1940 in Duluth, MN, the daughter of Louis and Esther (Thompson) Kramnic. She was a 1960 graduate of Whitehall-Yearling High School in Columbus, OH and was an Art major at Ohio State University in Columbus. While living in Washington, D. C., she became a Master Engraver. She loved dance and studied tap, Ballet, modern jazz, ballroom and Folk. Other interests include traveling to countries including Egypt, Greece and Italy to visit the ancient ruins. Joan was an avid cat fancier and belonged to the Mid Michigan Cat Fancier Association. She showed her beloved cats in Michigan shows for many years, making champions of many. She had completed a full length play and children’s book and was working on a musical comedy. She was preceded in death by her parents, and in 1999 a sister, Carol Yingling. Surviving are a brother, David Kramnic of Kalamazoo, a sister-in-law, Janice Arlington of Kendal; nieces, Cheryl Yingling, Tina Hochstetler and Tonya Hochstetler; a dear friend, Carol Stezowski. Friends may meet with her family from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1747 W. Milham, Kalamazoo, Rev. Paul Nuechterleine officiating. Interment will be at Kendall Cemetery. Arrangements by the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, MI. Donations in her memory may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or Hospice of SW Michigan.
