Jerry Buell

Jerry Buell, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 14, 2025, in Grand Rapids. 

He was born on February 27, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, to Virgil and Phyllis (Elkins) Buell. Jerry dedicated 30 years of his life to Overhead Door in Grand Rapids, where he found fulfillment in his work until his retirement in 2023. 

Throughout his life, Jerry was known for his passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. One of his greatest joys came from spending time with his family, especially his eight grandchildren. Jerry's dedication to his family was evident in the love and attention he gave to each of them, creating special memories that will long be treasured. Jerry had a colorful character and enjoyed making others laugh and smile. 

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Dawn; children, Jerry (Lauren) Buell II of Ohio, Amy Buell of Ohio, Stephanie Buell of Kalamazoo, Jenny Buell of Plainwell and Nathan Buell of Plainwell and his grandchildren, Riley, Maxin, Kasen, Grayson, Nash, Blake, Oakland, and Priella. He is also remembered by his sister, Barb (Kip) Geyer, along with several nieces and nephews. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Sandra Buell, William Buell, and Elaine Taylor. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of those he loved. 

Friends may visit with Jerry’s family from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the Winkel Funeral Home in Otsego, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 19, 2025, with Pastor Matt Noble officiating. 

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Orangeville.
