Jerry Boelman

Jerry Boelman of Parchment, Michigan, went to be with his Lord Thursday, December 2, 2010 in Kalamazoo. Mr. Boelman was born December 8, 1917 in Kalamazoo to Jerry and Jennie (Smith) Boelman. During WWII he served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in England. There he met and married the former Lillian Sargeant on March 3, 1945 at Stoke-on-Trent. For many years he was employed with Gerald Timbrink Plastering Co. Jerry attended Peace Lutheran Church in Otsego. In his leisure time he enjoyed golfing, bowling and Pat’s dog, Buddy. Surviving are his children, Patricia (Boelman) Greene of Kalamazoo and Michael (Cheryl) Boelman of Portage; two grandsons, Chad (Andrea) Boelman of Portage and Scott (Elizabeth) Boelman of Kalamazoo; four great-grandchildren, Kendall, Ezekial, Myra and Gabriel; two brothers, Al Boelman and Steve (Shirley) Boelman, both of Kalamazoo; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, in 2005; and five siblings, John, Edna, Marion, Ann and Sam. Friends may meet with his family at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, from 2-4 and from 6-8 P.M. Sunday. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, Otsego, with Pastor Jason J. Thiel officiating. Burial at East Cooper Cemetery will follow. Contributions in memory of Jerry may be made to Peace Lutheran Church.
