Jerri Sue Blood
Jerri Sue Blood of Plainwell, Michigan, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012, in Kalamazoo. Mrs. Blood was born September 14, 1942 in Kalamazoo to Jocko and Marie (Hoeness) Blakeman and was a lifelong resident of the area. For many years she was employed with Borgess-Pipp Hospital, retiring when she turned 50.
Jerri liked to watch the Detroit Tigers, Verlander was her favorite, and was a dedicated fan of Days of Our Lives soap opera. In her leisure time she loved going to bingo, baking, crafts, sewing, decorating sugar cookies, going to movies and shopping. She was always gardening and loved working with her flowers, watching birds and always making sure they had food. Jerri had a great sense of humor, was a very strong person, both inside and out. She was caring and giving, no matter her limitations, always helping with potlucks, bake sales or just lending an ear. She was a cancer survivor and despite her limitations, she would always do exercise class and crafts. She was a loving wife, mom and friend.
On July 24, 1965 in Allegan she married Jerry Lee Blood and they had celebrated 46 years together. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son and a daughter, Ken Blood of Byron Center and Crissy Blood of Kalamazoo; a sister-in-law, Sandi Weiso; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and their husbands, Medora (Harry) Winter, Wava (Herman) Hartwig, Donna (Roy) Norton; and a brother, Jack Weiso.
In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to her family or to the charity of your choice.

R.I.P. My friend.I remember all the good times we had.Scouts,Cakes, floats .Jerri was a wonderful person always a smile on her face and ready to help.The thing I like to rememnber was Christmas time at Emerald Park.She was the only one who could put the hooks back into the bulbs and make them stay.She will be sadly missed. And to her family hold onto your memories and may God Bless you at this time of loss.

I worked at Pipp Hospital and knew Jerri, she would bring the cart up with food for the patients and always had such a sunny smile. I also knew her daughter, Crissy and always enjoyed being around her. Jerri was such a lovely lady, and I was so lucky to have known her. My condolences to the family. GOD BLESS

Jerry and Family sorry for your separation, I say separation because Jerri is not lost. May you all reflect upon the joy that you shared with Jerri. I did not know Jerri but my late grandmother Mrs. Scaggs did and liked her very well. Jerry you my late brother Craig and I were childhood friends in Allegan. May God Bless and give you all His sweet comfort.

I am so sorry and my heart is deeply saddened by the passing of my aunt Jerri. She was always so nice to me when I was up to Michigan. I was planning on going to Michigan this last spring but sickness has come over us at this time. She was always smiling and laughing about everything and I remember her comforting words and hugs. I am so sorry to read of Jerri’s passing. It seems like whenever I saw you Chrissy, your mother was with you. Mother’s are pretty special, and you will never regret all that you did for her and your family. I am sure your presence was very much appreciated.
