To my Uncle Ken and Aunt Doris … what can anyone say ? To deal with a child’s death, at whatever his age, has to be so very difficult. Your children should not go before the parents. And for my cousins, Roger, Beth, & Jerry … you have lost your brother. I am so sad for all of you, and all of the rest of our family. This is such a sad time. I have been hoping we would have a much better year in 2013, but it begins badly already. Prayers have been sent for all our family.

I am very sorry for your loss, Ken, Doris, Beth, Roger, and Jerry.
I hadn’t seen Jeff in many years. I remember how damned tall he was. I also remember his laugh and smile, he had an “aw shucks” kind of personality. He seemed to always be smiling and happy. I know he wasn’t always happy. I know he struggled with that. But we can remember all the good things right now.
I only remember one specific incident at your old house in Otsego, the house at the end of the street by the school. Jeff, Rico, and many of the cousins were playing basketball in the driveway. It was a rough game, like it always was. I was probably 9 or 10, a puny little punk watching from the grass. Jeff saw me, scooped me up and put me on his shoulders. He ran 2-3 plays with “Danny Boone” on his shoulders and I got to touch the ball once.
He was a tall, lanky, happy fellow. That’s how I’ll remember him.

Can’t believe another Evink family member has taken off for the pearly gates. Tootie wanted the Statler Brothers to sing, “Will the Circle be Unbroken” for her. She didn’t find the song, but no matter. One by one, her loved ones are forming an unbroken circle, up above. Now Jeff has joined the huge Evink family circle of love as well. May you all find peace.

Doris, Ken & Family…I am so sorry to see about Jeff passing away. A child should not go before their parent. But GOD has his reasoning for taking the good ones home first. My prayers go out to all of you.
Pat (Diane) or as Ken would say…DeeDee Diane
