Janet Trutsch

Janet E. Trutsch of Plainwell passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 in Kalamazoo. Janet was born July 25, 1939 in Gobles, the daughter of Walter and Reta (Easton) Garrett. She had worked at R.B. Huffs Dime Store and had owned and operated a daycare from her home for several years. She was a member of Allegan United Methodist church where she worked in the daycare on Sundays. Janet enjoyed needlework and was skilled at knitting mittens.

Surviving are her daughters, Chrissy Trutsch of Kalamazoo, Christianna Trutsch and Alyssa Trutsch, both of Allegan; her siblings, Walter (Kathy) Garrett and Raymond (Nancy) Garrett; several nieces, nephews and her special friend, James. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Harold; her son Danny Trutsch and her sister Veva. Friends may meet with her family at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego on Wednesday from 10-11 A.M. where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Robert Lynch officiating. Burial will follow at Blackman Cemetery, Allegan. Contributions in memory of Janet may be made to the

Sorry to hear about Janet. She baby sat for my daughter for several years. She was an awesome lady. Her family was great. Rest in peace my friend. May Jesus comfort her family and give them peace.

I have known of Janet since I was a young child. Now I will remember her through the loving family members she leaves behind. Her spirit will live on through the many hearts she touched along her journey. Peace be with you.

I got to meet Janet at Life Care. She sat at my grandma’s table.

Often my daughter (who is special needs) and I would visit during lunch or dinner hour in the banquet hall.

Janet would kindly insist that my daughter have all her cheese puffs off of her plate.

I said “Janet, you need to eat your cheese puffs”.

She responded back “they have no much salt for my diet. Now she can have them. (as she is handing one over to my daughter to eat).

My girl is now hooked on cheese puffs because of Janet introducing them to her.

Janet was a very kind and wonderful lady. She will be missed.
