where he was a Phi Gamma Delta. Jim then served his country in the U.S. Army. For over 30 years he was employed with Loctite/Henkel where he worked in sales out of

. In his leisure time Jim was an avid golfer, a passionate live music enthusiast and enjoyed woodworking. Surviving are his son, Eric (Melissa) Claflin of

; his mother, Eleanor H. Claflin of South Haven, MI; a sister, Nancy (Richard) Brinks of South Haven, MI; two sisters-in-law, Trisha (Paul Brown) Grimley-Brown of Kula, Maui and Judy Claflin of Augusta, MI; a niece, Kelly (Jeff) Shemberger, and their children Justin and Jacob, of Battle Creek, MI; a nephew, Tim (Shelly) Claflin, and their children Jace and Ben, of Kalamazoo, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laurie (Grimley) Claflin; a daughter, Sarah Jane Claflin; and a brother, William Claflin. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held from

11 A.M.

until

12 Noon
