James Donald Bevins passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 6, 2025, after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born February 10, 1951, to John R. and Louise (Salyers) Bevins in Paintsville, Kentucky. His industrial and commercial work has been distributed nationally. His photographs have been hung in several galleries in Michigan, and he was an active member of the Kalamazoo Valley Art Association. He also enjoyed participating in art shows.

In his free time Jim liked cooking, building things and could fix just about anything. In his earlier years he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. In 1970 in Plainwell, he married Sharon Kortes who survives.
