Jim passed away, Monday, January 22, 2024, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born October 8, 1952, in Detroit, the son of Robert and Ruth (Halverson) Begeman. For over 30 years Jim was an electrician and worked with IBEW Local 131 Electricians Union. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting. Jim enjoyed both playing and watching golf and liked spending time with his family and many friends.
In 2001 in Galesburg, he married Marcia Micun who survives. Also surviving are his children, Matthew (Jen) Begeman of Alamo and Chelsea (Gary) Snow of Richland; stepchildren, Michelle (James) Quatrine and Robert Brunette both of Grand Rapids; 5 grandchildren, Melody, Hunter, Raegan, Weston and Madelyn; sister Carol (Bill) Govier of Northville along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Barbara (Jim) Elvin, Ken (Angela) Begeman and Gary Begeman.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
Friends may visit with Jim's family starting at 12:00 P.M., Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Restoration Church (formerly Alamo Congregational Church), 7925 N. 6th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009, until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 P.M.
