J. David Summers

David passed away, Monday, August 26, 2024, at his home in Plainwell. 

He was born June 24, 1936, in Three Rivers, the son of John G. and Mildred (Brinkman) Summers. David worked at Eaton Corporation and retired from First of America Bank as vice president. 

In his free time David loved restoring old cars. He had a creative and mechanical mind and was electrically skilled. He was an active member of the AFLCIO union and served many offices over the years. David enjoyed hobby farming and raised beef cattle and crops. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. On May 26, 1984, he married Mary Tripp who survives. 

Also surviving are his children, Tim (Valerie) Summers of Kalamazoo and Jill Summers of Texas; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Tom Summers, Karen Keene and Mike Summers along with several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, John Summers. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 30, 2024, at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell with Doug Fritz officiating.
