Kalamazoo
to Carl and Statta (Phillips) Branch. For many years she was employed as a secretary with the MacSimBar Paper Company, which had become Mead Corp. at the time of her retirement in 1982. Irene had been a member of the First Congregational Church of Otsego and the Otsego Lady Elks and was an avid golfer. On
November 30, 1940
she was married to Cornelius “Nick” Bostater, who died in 1995. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Wilbur Branch in 1988, a sister, Mildred Fales in 1993 and a nephew Dale Fales in 2001. Surviving are her companion of 15 years, Mervin Sherwood; her sister, Bernice Wood of Otsego; several nieces and nephews, including Harold ‘Jim’ (
Sharon
) Fales, Linda Fales (Herman) Watson, Doris Branch (Theron)
Hopkins
, Wayne Branch, Gerald (Carolyn) Branch, Wendy Wood (Malcolm)
Stafford
, Doug (Johanne LeBlanc) Wood, Marie Scarlett. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, May 15 from
2-4 P.M.
at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where services will be held at
4:00 P.M.
, Pastor David Youngs officiating. Interment at
Mountain
Home
Cemetery
, Otsego. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice.
