Henry A. Turner

Al passed away, Monday, April 8, 2024, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. 

He was born August 29, 1937, in Moulton, Alabama, the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Martin) Turner. As a young man Al worked construction and carpentry jobs and at the paper mill in Parchment and retired from Michigan Gas Company in 1995. 

Al was an avid Alabama Football fan and liked doing crossword puzzles, listening to country music, watching old movies and taking care of his flower gardens. Most important to Al were his strong faith in God and the love for his family. Al was a member of the First Baptist Church in Plainwell. In 1958 in Kalamazoo, he married Diane Sleep who passed away in 2022. 

Surviving are his children, Michelle Link of Kalamazoo and Robert (Rachel) Turner of Illinois; 5 grandchildren, Nicole, Desiree (Jason), Jack, Faith and Selah; great-granddaughters, Lily and Sophia. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son-in-law, Al Link and siblings, Marie Proctor and Faye Turner. 

Friends may visit with Al’s family starting at 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor George Osborn officiating. 

Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell.
