Helen Marie Newton peacefully slipped into heaven on October 25, 2024, at Alamo Cove Nursing Home.
She was born on March 8, 1926, in Edmore, MI, the daughter of Bernice & Mildred Robbins. The family moved to Kalamazoo when she was 3 years old. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1945. In August of 1946 she married Kenneth H. Senholtz. They enjoyed 27 years together before he passed away in 1974.
She was a 4-H community leader for several years and an active member of the Alamo Community Congregational Church. She worked as a medical assistant for many years at Bronson Medical Center and then took up cooking for the rectory of St. Augustine Church. She loved trying out new recipes.
Other things she enjoyed were reading and she was an excellent seamstress. She learned to ballroom dance and sewed her own dresses for the competitions she entered. Most of all she looked forward to spending time with all of her family. In 2002 she married again and enjoyed a later-in-life marriage with David Newton and his family. He passed away in 2015.
Surviving are her son David (Marie) Senholtz of MS, daughter Marilyn (Mike) Meyers of Otsego; grandchildren: Jennifer (Casey) Burril of AL, Patricia Gooden, Becky (Robert) Baker, Bobbie (Mike) Mooney all of MS, Michael (Julie) Meyers, Matthew (Anika) Meyers both of Plainwell, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers; Clayton (Stel) Robbins, and Robert (Carol) Robbins: sisters; Yvonne (Robert) Richards, Beverly (Clarence) Gross, and Wanda (Harry) Taylor.
