Helen L. Barton

Helen L. Barton of Otsego, Michigan, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 in Allegan. Mrs. Barton was born April 21, 1926, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Guy and Reba (Purdy) Wilkins, Helen was a graduate of Otsego High School. On September 20, 1946, she was married to Lyle Barton, who died in 1994. Surviving are a daughter and a son, Kathy (Jim) Misner and Marc (Rhonda) Barton, both of Otsego; four grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Dole, Adam Strong, Jason Barton and Lindsy (Jason)Musthaler; four great-grandchildren, Carley, Carson, Colton and Cassidy, who brought a lifetime of joy to their gram; two sisters and a brother, Dorothy Minegar of Kansas City, Kansas, Elaine “Fritzie” Johnson of Otsego and Eugene Wilkins of Bitely; several nieces, nephews, including Steve and Jan Johnson, and Julie Stasi and families; several cousins. Friends may meet with her family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, with funeral celebrant, Bill Rose, officiating. Cremation will follow with burial of ashes at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Helen may be made to Sylvia’s Place or the Otsego Area Veterans Memorial.
