. Helen was born in 1922 to Benjamin and Helen (Winter) Heinichen of Chicago IL. In October 1945, Helen married Richard P. Thompson in Allegan. She retired from Parker Brass in 1975 to enjoy her family, friends and cottage at

. A committed congregant and choir member of
Peace
Evangelical
Lutheran
Church
, Helen was a loving wife and sister, devoted mother, grandmother and friend, an abundant spirit and a fierce baker of German stollen and Christmas cookies. She is survived by her siblings Ethel Myers of Allegan and Walter (Chlao) Heinichen of Otsego; daughter Kathleen Thompson of Carrboro NC; daughter-in-law Ulla (Sjöberg) Thompson of Asheville NC; grandchildren Erik (Kate Holmes) Thompson of Seattle WA and Linda (Raven Rashap) Thompson of Missoula MT; niece Raeleen Horn of Naperville IL; lifelong friend Dorothy Martin of Otsego; and a loving contingent of family, friends and caregivers. Helen was preceded in death by husband Richard Thompson, son Allen Thompson and sister Lorain Horn. Visitation will be on Thursday from

8 p.m.
at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego. Funeral services will be held at
11 a.m.

Lutheran
Church
, Otsego, Pastor Josh Olson officiating. Burial will follow in
Mountain
