To Anna, Catherine and George…I’m very sorry for your loss. Butch was a great man, always willing to help us (my Dad and I) in the work environment. My Dad has been telling me for years what a big help Butch was to him in the early years of his business….I would be very proud to call Butch my Father. Keep the good times in your heart! May the passing days/weeks bring you comfort in knowing what a great man Butch was and that he loved you all VERY MUCH!!!

Ken Carpenter, Class of ’63. To Anne and the Carlyle family. I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Butch. Butch and I were locker mates all thru Grade, Jr High and High School and we knew more about each other than anyone would really want to know about anybody. Butch could always be found at the Carpenter house, as so many of our friends and my parents enjoyed him so much also. I worked one summer with Butch in his fathers roofing business, what a hard job (the hardest I ever had), but as Butch would say, got a hell of a tan from the waist up. My thoughts of Butch are like yesterday and my prayers are with the Carlyle family. Ken & Linda Carpenter, South Bend, IN.

Its been a great joy having Butch & Annie as our neighbors for over 40 years. The Sunday neighborhood canoe trips down the Gun River bring fond memories as well as the dinners and great fellowship we have enjoyed over these many years.
We will miss Butch on his daily walks around the block with Dee, and will miss his sense of humor and warm smile which was amazing with all the physical pain he endured.
We will sincerely miss him in the neighborhood and pray for you Ann, Catherine, George, and families.

To Ann and family, I first meet your wonderful family years ago when I was in high school when I would come over with Dolores when she was babysitting for you. I remember thinking what a nice family you had, we always had such fun at your home. In the last year or so, it has been such fun listening to Dee telling me of all the fun that she was having with Butch, helping him and being a part of the business. I was so sorry to hear of Butch’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Dee during this difficult time – Barb

Our condolences to you and the family Anne. I remember when I had helped Butch roof some of your house and he paid me the best compliment ever when he told me that I put on a roof straighter than some of his own men. Living and growing up next to him we kids in the neighborhood had some fun times together. All of our yards were one big play area. One thing that always was on Butch’s face was that big smile he had. Remember and cherish that always Anne. It will help keep you going in the sad days .
