Hannah was born in Seoul, South Korea, on February 10, 1998. In September of that year, she found herself making the journey across the big pond to Chicago and ultimately Berkley, Michigan where she was adopted by her loving parents Thomas and Paula Holmes. Hannah became the missing piece to their family as she joined big brother, Lee Holmes.
As a child, during the school year, Hannah grew up enjoying various activities such as playing soccer and basketball for through the community Parks and Recreation, on school teams and partaking in the local Girl Scout Troop activities.
In the summer months, Hannah spent her summer vacations at the family home in Boyne City, Michigan where she enjoyed fishing, spending time on the boat, or feeling the warmth of the sand on the beach. Holidays were one of Hannah’s most favorite times when she was reunited with her cousins and was able to spend days at a time laughing, singing Hannah Montana or the Cheetah Girls, playing with Webkinz, and staying up as late as she possibly could so that she wouldn’t miss a single moment.
In 2006, Hannah and her family moved to Plainwell, Michigan due to her father’s financial services business. While in Plainwell, her love of sports continued as she joined the Force Soccer Team and played basketball at Starr Elementary and Plainwell Middle School, where her father just so happened to be her coach! When Hannah wasn’t playing sports, she invested her time in a different Girl Scouts Troop and participated in the St. Margaret’s Youth Group. It was during this time in the youth group where she developed her love for helping others as she participated in several mission trips and assisting the homeless in the Greater Kalamazoo area.
Hannah began high school at Plainwell High School, but it wasn’t long before she determined that she wanted to do so much more in terms of her studies and getting out into the world. Hannah transferred to Plainwell Alternative School where she was able to move much quicker through the high school curriculum and received her high school diploma in the winter of 2015 – just under three years!
During the summer of her high school graduation, Hannah wanted to explore more in depth with her love of photography and enrolled in the Chicago Institute of Arts, studying photography and graphic design. It was during this time that life suddenly became even more beautiful for Hannah through the lens of a camera.
With a forever love for music and now this new passion for photography, Hannah traveled all over the United States doing freelance work. Some of her most known images she created are of artists such as Chief Keef, Soulja Boy, Lil Peep, A$AP Rocky, Lil Pump and several others. Recently, she settled in the Los Angeles area where she was known as Inju Kim-her birth name before being adopted. In Los Angeles, Hannah set up a home base for her photography work and started building her career as an entrepreneur.
Hannah is predeceased by her grandfather Harry (Vanessia) Thomas, grandfather Ronald (Donna) Holmes, uncle Andrew (Donilee) Holmes, uncle Joseph (Jeanne) Gauthier, uncle Donald (Jeanne) Greene, and nephew Brayden Curry.
Hannah is survived by her parents, Thomas and Paula Holmes, her brother Lee Holmes, grandmother Vanessia Thomas, grandmother Donna Holmes, uncle Joseph (Sandra) Holmes, aunt Jeanne Greene, aunt Mary (Joseph) Mathews, uncle Edward (Michele) Thomas, and many cousins and their families.

Inju was a huge inspiration for myself and many other young photographers. Although I never directly communicated with her, I was enthralled by her photography and her as a person. She was a driving force in continuing photography and pursuing work that I actually enjoy.
She was so incredibly dynamic, and I will miss her photography and seeing her progress through her life as as a young person. I wish I knew more, it was just seemingly so sudden. My condolences to the family, she mattered to a lot of people who you may never even hear from. Rest in peace.

I had the thought to look up some old friends recently and came across this. We were friends way way back in early elementary school and I have a lot of fond memories of her and the family. So deeply sad to hear about her passing. Wishing your family well <3
