Gary E. Burd

Gary passed away, Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. 

He was born September 29, 1968, in Plainwell, the son of Jerry and Cheryl (Pion) Burd. Gary was a 1986 Otsego High School graduate and attended Western Michigan University. 

Gary was always up for a good time and had a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his many friends, joking around and getting into trouble. He also enjoyed following college football, especially University of Michigan, hunting and camping. 

Surviving are his children, Daelan Burd of Camp Pendleton, California and Hailey Burd; mother, Cheryl Burd and sister, Michelle Shearer all of Otsego. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Tyler and his father. 

According to his wishes cremation has taken place.

Burial of ashes will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego at a later time.

Contributions in memory of Gary may be directed to a scholarship fund for Hailey (checks payable to Heather Burd).
