Fred passed away at his home in Kalamazoo on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. He was born August 17, 1945, the son of Fredrick W. and Viola (Watson) Seeger in Kennett, Missouri. He moved to Michigan with his family when he was a young child and met the girl who would claim his heart for the rest of his life. He graduated from Portage Central High School in 1962. On June 24, 1967 he married his best friend, Linda M. Korvela in Kalamazoo. Fred served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Japan. Fred and Linda made their home in Kalamazoo. He was employed as a welding equipment maintenance and repair person for General Motors until his retirement in 2007. Fred watched his children play sports and encouraged them from the stands. He enjoyed talking on his CB radio, raising and showing Dalmatians and fixing things around the house. Fred loved his family and the time he spent with Linda assisting her in her projects and interests in any way he could.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; children, Melinda M. Seeger, Jerry A. (Elizabeth) Seeger and Andrew J. (Melissa) Seeger all from Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Tasia, Trenten, Kaden, Jillian and Sydney his sister Carmeleta (Walter) VonEhr of Elkhart, Indiana, many nieces and nephews and his dog, Dexter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his three brothers and two sisters.
Burial will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Fred may be made to Senior Services of Kalamazoo, 918 Jasper Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49001.

Aunt Linda & family, My heart aches for all of you. I’m so sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in knowing that Uncle Fred no longer suffers. He may be gone in body but he lives on in all of you. Linda, I’m so sorry to see this and send my sincere sympathy. Those of us who have been blessed with long marriages understand what a huge loss of your life companion this must be. You are in my thoughts, my friend. I pray your memories will bring you peace.
