Frances Ellinger

Frances Ellinger passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 in Kalamazoo.

Mrs. Ellinger was born March 31, 1925 in Oakland, CA to James and Edith (Johncock) Powers. For 25 years, together with her husband, she owned and operated Corky’s Drive-In in Allegan. She was later employed as a greeter with Wal-Mart. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing Pepper and Poker. Fran was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose.

Surviving are two sons, Ron (Sue) Ellinger of Otsego and Bill Ellinger of Otsego; 6 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard Ellinger; her brother, Duane ‘Duke’ Powers; and her sister, Jane Ann Powers.

In accordance with her wishes cremation and taken place.

Contributions in memory of Fran may be made to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

So very sorry, Franie will be missed, they use to have fish frys with my Grandparents, and worked with her for many years, she had a big heart and we all loved her. Prayers for you all. God bless each of you.

I worked for Fran @ Corky’s for 3 summers and loved working for her and Heiney. It was great experience and she always remembered me when I would go to Wal-Mart when she was working. Fran was a fun and funny lady I will miss her
