Floyd L. “Red” Patrick

Red passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at his home in Plainwell.

He was born February 23, 1935 in Gapsville, KY the son of Homer and Zelma (Kennard) Patrick. Red had been an owner and operator of Floyd Construction for many years. He loved being outdoors and his hound dogs. In his spare time Red enjoyed hunting for coon, squirrels and deer, gardening, keeping up his yard, attending horse shows, breeding hound dogs, going to the fair, listening to country and gospel music at the Music Barn and most of all, spending time with his children and grandchildren. On September 12, 1964 at Gun Lake he married Barbara Kiel who survives.

Also surviving are their children, Steve Patrick of IN, Stanley Patrick of Cooper, Amanda (Rodney) Shumaker of Martin and Floyd “Luke” Patrick II. of Wayland; 11 grandchildren, Virginia, Erica, Angie, Andrea, Kristin, Chastity, Hannah, Rese, Keegan, Kaylee and Logan; several great-grandchildren and siblings, Martha Jean, James, Paul and Jerry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Marvin Patrick and 5 siblings.

Friends may visit with Red’s family starting at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at At the Master’s Feet Discipleship Ministry in Otsego until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ray Brown officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Orangeville.

Contributions in memory of Red may be made to the family for expenses.
