I send my condolence to all familly and close freinds who are grieving the loss of Ernie. I was blessed to get to know him better in his latter months when he was a patient at Borgess Medical Center. We enjoyed conversation sometmes on the lighter side and sometimes much deeper. On the deeper side we talked about his relationship with God. I learned that Ernie was a good listener when it came to this subject but also was the kind of person who was determined to make his own decisions in his own time. The day I received word from family that he had opened his heart to the Lord Jesus Christ was a day of great joy. When I last spoke with Ernie he initiated telling this news to me. It was further confirmation of his genuine faith and trust in the Lord.

It gives me great joy to know that the Holy Scriptures affirm that Ernie is in the presence of his Lord at this time.

A lot of good memories with Ernie who is my ex-brother-in-law and always a friend. Saw him often at Bob’s Hardware and he was always jovial and ready to reminisce. Always brought up the good old days at the tar-paper shack for hunting at White Cloud , Michigan. I am sure he is watching over ALL of his grand-children who share his love. Our prayers to all his family present and past.

Pat. I am so sorry that I was out of town when Ernie passed away. I really enjoyed my visits with him those last few weeks and I loved his positive attitude. I last visited him about two weeks ago (just before we left for a Florida vacation) and we sat around and had a long conversation while he smoked his pipe and reminisced. It was evident to me that he had accepted his circumstances and was facing death with dignity. He was a great guy and a good friend.
