Edna J. Bouman

Edna was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus, Monday, February 12, 2018 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.

She was born March 28, 1929 in Vriesland, MI, the daughter of Edward and Jennie (VanderVelde) Kroodsma. Edna enjoyed playing yard games with her family, spending time at the cottage on the Muskegon River and playing scrabble. Family and faith were Edna’s passion. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Zeeland and enjoyed being in the choir. She was kind hearted and loved helping others and often volunteered at the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.

Though of modest means she shared all she had with those in need.

Leigh, Tom, Mark and Karen, I am so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. My deepest condolences to you and your families. it was an honor to care for your mother at Alamo. I truly enjoyed the times your mother would recall her song “Memories”. Her laughter was a blessing to me. I pray you will embrace her legacy and please know I am praying for you during this difficult time.
