Eddy Phipps

Phipps, Eddy Jack Phipps of Otsego, MI passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at his home in Otsego. He was born August 20, 1929 in Taos, New Mexico to Lee and Jewell (Bonner) Phipps. For many years Eddy worked in the logging industry in the northwest states. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading western novels, gem faceting, silversmithing and was a member of the Quartzsite Roadrunners Rock Club. On February 15, 1997 in Quartzsite, AZ he married Elizabeth Lorenz who survives.

Also surviving are his daughters, Sheila Livingston, April Janosky and Tammy Inman all of WA; brother, Tom Phipps of CA, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also surviving are a step-daughter and her husband, Linda (Roger) McPherson and their children and grandchildren all of Otsego. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Donald, Ronald and Ted Phipps.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11am at the Merson Church with Pastor Alan Carson officiating.

Contributions in memory of Eddy may be made to the Merson Church in Gobles.

Elizabet, You are in our thoughts and prays. We know that Jack is in a much better plan but that doesn’t ease the pain in our hearts right now. Just keep the wonderful memories in your heart to old on to. Jack was a wonderful friend and we enjoyed him so much. Love you little lady. Prays for the whole family

My Dearest Elizabeth, I’m so sorry I couldn’t make it to the funeral today I have a very bad cold! Just know you and your Family are in our thoughts and prayers! God will help you with this loss of Jack; he will always be a missing piece of your heart; He is no longer suffering and is with our Father in Heaven! Just know I am here for you if you need to talk! I love you my sister in Christ!!
