Douglas L. Jameson of Plainwell, MI, passed away

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

at his home. Mr. Jameson was born

November 4, 1933

in Plainwell to Edgar and Ethel (Breck) Jameson and was a lifelong resident of the area. Doug graduated from

Plainwell

High School

where he was captain of the football team. From 1953 to 1955 he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. For many years he was employed with Mastercraft and retired from Impact Label. In his leisure time he enjoyed being outdoors, yard work, working on cars, building and riding dune buggies up north. Doug found lots of joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On

October 22, 1955

in Otsego he married the former Marshia Stopher and they had celebrated 54 years together. Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Jeffrey and Ann, Kimberly and Jon, Tommy and Missy, all of Plainwell; his grandchildren,

Joshua Lane

and Jamie Jameson, Clinton and Lizzy Jameson, Ashley Knarian, Betsy and Brittany Jameson; great-grandchildren, Jerin, Jayden and Ethan; a brother, Jon Jameson of Plainwell; many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Bill Jameson. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at

1:00 P.M.

Friday at the

Winkel Funeral Home,

Otsego,

with funeral celebrant Bill Rose officiating. Contributions in memory of Doug may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Michigan or the American Heart Association.
