Donna passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.
She was born May 21, 1930 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Alden and Alice (Bidwell) Coon. Donna had owned and operated a gas station in Plainwell, had worked at Span Brass in Otsego and at Western Michigan University for several years until her retirement in 1992.
She was involved with the Woman’s Auxiliary at Pipp Hospital and was a fixture at St. Margaret’s Friday night bingo. Donna enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved animals and was known as a cat lady who also loved her dog Zeus.
In 1948 she married Gilbert Griffith who passed away in 1966. She then married Derwood Laws who preceded her in death in 2007.
Surviving are her children, Victoria (Rod) Wade of Kalamazoo, Linda Jones of Plainwell, Cindy Stewart of Florida and Jeannette (Carl) Robar of Otsego; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Johnny Coon of Petoskey along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and daughter, Peggy Wine.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later time.
Burial of ashes will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.

We all remember Donna for her overwhelming kindness. Jeanie rememberers her amazing peanut butter fudge. So many years ago she was our neighbor and always a friend.
