Donald R. “Ray” Hall of Plainwell, Michigan passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011, in Kalamazoo. Mr. Hall was born October 7, 1941, in Stockbridge, Michigan to Grover and Mae (Whitaker) Hall.
Ray had worked as a driver for Hall Brothers Logging for many years, he also enjoyed the work he had done as a mechanic. In addition to working on them Ray and his brothers enjoyed racing cars at area tracks.
He is survived by his companion of 38 years, Donna Reed; children, Stephen Hall of Orangeville, Lori (Jon) Straube of Hastings, Donald Hall Jr. of Plainwell and Kristopher (Mandi) Hall of Allegan; stepson, Eric Reed of Plainwell; 8 grandchildren, including his special granddaughter Saydi Ray; several great grandchildren; siblings, Carmel Hall of Plainwell, Hobert Hall of Otsego, Alkie (Bun) Holden, Faye (Rich) Risner, Ron Hall, Jim Hall, Deborah (Al) Walley and Rick (Denise) Hall all of Plainwell; mother-in-law, Madeline Reed of Plainwell; and many nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his children, Cynthia Hall and Michael Hall; siblings, Paul Hall, Robert Hall, Shirley Marshall and Lucille LaFountaine.
The family will greet friends on Sunday, June 12 from 3 to 7 pm at the Pentecostal Church of Christ in Orangeville, where services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Orangeville.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Ray may be left to his family.
