Donald C. Himelrick, Sr. of Plainwell, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013, in Allegan. Mr. Himelrick was born August 4, 1930, to Earl and Lillian (Chalmers) Himelrick.
Don graduated from Northeastern University and Burdett College, both in Massachusetts. For many years he was employed as comptroller/treasurer, first with Cabot, Cabot and Forbes in Boston, MA, and later with Meyer C. Weiner of Kalamazoo. Don loved his family. In his leisure time he enjoyed photography, cooking, camping, fishing, swimming and collecting toy trains. He had helped to establish the Kalamazoo Toy Train Co. Don was a member of the Assembly of God, Plainwell, where he served as church treasurer and director of the church’s homeless shelter.
On May 8, 1955 in Middleton, MA he married Loretta Luzinski, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters and a son, Joyce (John) Davis of Otsego, Sharon Dolfin of Bloomingdale, Lauren (Mark) Witsaman of Grand Rapids and Donald Chalmers (Bernadette) Himelrick, Jr. of Plainwell; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Angela, Danita, Nathaniel, Casey, Catherine, Donald III, Lillian, Blaise, Mara and Conrad; siblings, Robert (Carolyne) Himelrick of Florida, David Himelrick and Gail (Peter) Smith, both of Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place . A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at the Plainwell Assembly of God Church, 202 S. Sherwood Ave., Plainwell, Michigan. Don’s family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 11 A.M. A luncheon immediately following the service will be at the Plainwell Community Center.

Rest in Peace, Don. The good old days at KTTW. The “King of the Bimps” and all that went along with. Sweet days, Don, and you were so much a part of them. We had magic moments there in the road of life, fun, good times, and fellowship. You will be missed. You made it fun. You were are Good Friend. Blessings and Thank-you.

I am sorry to bother you. But at one time did you and Don live in Weymouth, MA on Lambert Avenue. Did you husband work at
Cambridge Seven Associates as there Accountant in the 70,s. If so he hired me and taught me my profession as an accounting and I will always be grateful. If not I am sorry for your loss and the coincidence.
