Donald E. Wilson

Don passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Stanford Lodge in Plainwell.

He was born February 19, 1929 in Allegan the son of Clayton “Pat” and Flossie (Weaver) Wilson. Don proudly served his country in the US Air Force. For many years he had worked as a supervisor at Durametallic Corp. until his retirement in 1988. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, tinkering in his garage, camping and traveling. Don was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Otsego, Saladin Shriners and the Order of the Eastern Star. On September 8, 1950 he married Eileen Smith who survives.

Also surviving are his children, Clayton (Barbara) Wilson and Diana (Douglas) Leffring; daughter-in-law, Denise Wilson; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Donald D. Wilson and siblings, Milton, Clayton and Robert Wilson and Lois Nolden.

Friends may meet with Don’s family from 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 19, 2017 with Celebrant Bill Rose officiating.

Cremation will follow.

Burial of ashes will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later time.
