Donald E. “Don” Pountain of Allegan, Michigan, passed away

, to Gerald and Charlotte (Valentine) Pountain. After WWII Don served in the U.S. Army, stationed in
Japan
. For 41 years he was employed with MasterCraft Corp. in
Kalamazoo
. He enjoyed cameras, radios and all kinds of gizmos. His favorite activities included fishing, bowling on a league with his son, Darryl, and above everything else, taking care of family. Don always did everything necessary in order to provide for them. They spent a lot of time at the cottage on
Barton
Lake
in
Vicksburg
, fishing and being with family. He was a hero to his sons. On
May 5, 1950
in
Kalamazoo
he married Rita (Brown), who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Donald B. (Gaile) Pountain of Allegan and Darryl (Louise) Pountain of Mattawan; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and another one on the way; two brothers, Ken Pountain of
Grand Rapids
,
MI
and Bob Pountain of
Nevada
. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wayne. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Contributions in memory of Don may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
