Diane M. Walters

Diane passed away, Friday, December 20, 2024, at Stanford Lodge in Plainwell, following a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. 

She was born June 4, 1952, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Richard and Theresa (Caro) Wood. Diane worked as a long-distance phone operator at Michigan Bell, cleaned houses and sold Avon. She enjoyed volunteering at Allegan General Hospital, following NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Jr., and attending cruise in nights at Deans and the Gilmore Car Museum with her husband. On March 17, 1973, in Twin Lakes, she married Timothy Walters and together they spent 51 wonderful years together. 

Also surviving are her brothers, Richard Wood of Kalamazoo and Dale (Mary Beth) Wood of Galesburg; sister, Patricia Wood of Kalamazoo; 2 nieces and her Uncle Frank (Nancy) who was like a brother. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

According to her wishes cremation has taken place. 

A celebration of Diane’s life will be held at a later time. Burial of ashes will be in the spring at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.
