, the daughter of Merton and Ruth (West) Cottrell. She taught 3

grade at Decatur Public Schools for over 20 years. Devota loved her family and her cats. She enjoyed camping at

Lake Michigan

and collecting beach glass and Petosky stones. She also liked to go antique shopping. Surviving are her son Stephen Hill of Gobles; her mother, Ruth Cottrell of Davison; a brother, Richard (Marilyn) Cottrell of Kalamazoo; nephew and niece, Scott and Lindsey Cottrell; a sister, Janet Fuller of Lapeer. She was preceded in death by her father Merton Cottrell in 1997. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held
