David passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at his home in Otsego.
He was born February 18, 1959 in Kalamazoo, the son of Dudley Sr. and Elizabeth “Betty” (Stasiak) Slack. David graduated from Gull Lake High School, received his associate degree from KVCC and went on to attend classes at MSU. He was a skilled woodworker and owned and operated a classic wooden boat restoration business.
David loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling to many lighthouses around Michigan and bowling. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. On July 13, 1979 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Augusta, he married Sara Hufford who survives.
Also surviving are his children, David Slack Jr. of Albion and Mellissa (Mark) Temerowski of Caledonia; grandchildren, Sophia and Wyatt; sister, Susan Slack of Portage along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dudley Slack Jr. and sisters, Karen (Mike) Fleser and Diane Slack.
Friends may visit with David’s family from 1-4 PM, Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, with a Rosary Service at 3:30 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 18, 2021 at St. Margaret Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Simon Manjooran officiating.
Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of David may be made to the
