David E. Kling

David passed away, Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo. 

He was born May 8, 1951, in Kalamazoo, the son of Arthur “Art” and Loretta (Brewster) Kling. David graduated from Otsego High School in 1969 and attended Kalamazoo Community College and Western Michigan University. 

As a young man David participated in 4-H. He was known for being creative with his hands and taught an adult woodworking class on Monday nights. He worked at Upjohn and that is where he met his wife, Jane, who passed away in 2023. David spent a majority of his career as a substitute teacher for Allegan County. 

Surviving are his daughter, Margaret “Maggie” and her partner, Frank Belknap, daughter in heart, Crystal Walker and granddaughters, Jade, Astrid and Freya Walker. 

According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
