David C. Hedges Jr

David passed away November 5, 2024, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.

He was born January 6, 1956, in Plainwell, the son of David and Ellen (Wright) Hedges. David graduated from Otsego High School in 1974 and was a lifelong resident of the area. 

As a young man he worked at a tractor dealership repairing farm equipment. In 1986 he opened Dave's Auto Repair, now Hedges Automotive Repair working until his retirement in 2018. David was a member of the National Hot Rod Association and loved drag racing. He also liked socializing and spending time with his many friends.

Surviving are his children, Dan (Emily) Hedges of Plainwell, Brian Hedges of Kalamazoo and Sheena (Patrick) Fate of Wayland; grandchildren, Seree and Tanner Hedges and Payton and Aiden Fate; sister, Donna O’Connell of Allegan along with several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Terry Stratton, Chuck Stratton, Bruce Hedges, Donnie Hedges and Raymond Hedges.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
