David
David F. Marsac
David passed away July 28, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
He was born November 23, 1934 in Oxford, Michigan the son of Clifford and Ruth (Swann) Marsac. He served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. For many years he had worked for Consumers Energy and then General Motors until his retirement.
In his spare time David enjoyed golfing on area leagues, even hitting a hole in one, he belonged to the quilting group at the Gun Lake Community Church, and he enjoyed exercising, playing cards, bird watching and traveling across the US and overseas. He was a member of the American Legion of Dorr.
David was a people person and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. On July 19, 1993 he married Jeannie Lawler who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Fred (Debi) Marsac of Clarkston and Janet (Brian) Sinclair of Grand Rapids; 4 grandchildren, Daniel (Karine), Kara (Matt), Ben and Hannah; great-granddaughter, Leilani; siblings, Yvonne Marsac and Joe Marsac along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Neal and John.
Friends may visit with David’s family from 5-8 P.M., Thursday, August 3, 2017 with a rosary service at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 4, 2017 at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Otsego with Rev. Fr. Simon Manjooran officiating.
Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell.
Military Honors by the American Legion of Dorr.

Our sympathy to all the family. Jean, thank you for sharing Dave with all of us at Comfort Covers. Dave could not ever be replaced and we will be forever grateful to him for his contributions. His “shaggie” quilts were most loved and appreciated. We loved to tease him and he delighted in sparing with us. We will miss him so much. Comfort Covers won’t be the same without him.

Dave will be missed by our exercise group. The ten years have gone by so fast. I will always remember how Dave would bring in a box of chocolate every Valentine day. He was always proud of his quilts. They were so pretty. RIP good friend. Thanks for all your tips on golfing.

I will remember Dave for his kind heart. He liked to bring candy to our exercise class on special occasions, and lugged those big fans back and forth when it was so hot in the gym. He was always thinking of others and what he could do to make it a little easier on us. He never minded being the only man in our group, and I think he might have even liked getting to be the “eye candy.” Dance in heaven, Dave. You are missed.

My fondest memory was going with you to shop for your wedding dress. You were so in love and eager to begin your life journey with Dave. That love is eternal and he will always be just a whisper away. Blessings on you Jeanne!

Pat fox and I (Ellen Radke) are so sorry to hear about Dave. We have both valued his friendship and sweet and kind manner. He was so much fun at euchre and the church luncheons. We will miss his smile. May you find comfort in your family and friends.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Marsac’s passing. He and Jean were frequent visitors to the Otsego District Library and he always brightened up the place with his smile and kind words. He will be missed.

My sympathy to you, Jean and your family. I quilted with David. He blessed many with his quilts. He was an amazing Christian man. The funeral was so beautiful to celebrate his life. We will miss him greatly as I know you will. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May God comfort you and surround you with His strength and love.
