Darrel, was an awesome Sunday school teacher. I remember Darrel from the First Baptist Church in Plainwell. Darrel also would take his “entourage” on hikes. He also tried to teach me how to swing a golf club. Thanks for encouraging me when I was young Darrel.

Dear Family,

I am so sorry to hear about uncle Darrel, my thoughts are with you all at this time, I love you all with all of my heart! this is a very sad time for all of us yet it should be a happy time, because we celebrate uncle darrels life. Uncle Darrel was a great person very good hearted to all and kind, he would help anyone out in anyway he could that’s just the type of person he was many people looked up to him and our family considered him the soul of our family we all loved him very much. he will be sadly missed but we can always reflect back on the things he has said to us, the laughs we shared and the time we spent together, I have many very fond memories of him.Tim & Todd may god put his arms around you at this time and in the months to follow,I know with my dad their were no more conversations and no going to him for advice and their are going to be times that your going to be that you wished you could talk to each other, this is probally one of the hardest things. To all of you: Uncle Darrel would not want us to sit around and be sad eventhough he knew that it would happen but he would ewant us to be uplifting and celebrate his new life!

I am so sorry that I cannot be their with all of you I wish more then anything that I could.

God Bless!

David & Connie Allen

When I was growing up, Darrel was always encouraging to us young guys at 1st Baptist in Plainwell, in spite of our shenanigans! I know he encouraged my brother in his fishing exploits! He had an obvious love for the Lord and his family. Thanks for your input in our lives Darrel, and our prayers and condolences to Tim, Todd and the family. With God’s peace, Steve Swope

As an Administrator within the DNR Human Resources Division I was afforded the opportunity to work with Darrel Allen on many programs and projects for the agency. Darrel was the consummate professional. He was a gentle soul who truly cared about others. I can truly state that Darrel was one of the nicest persons I have ever met. We have lost a true person. May Darrel Allen rest in peace.

Darrel was always remembered for his being a great co worker by my father from his many years in Plainwell. I was honored to work with him, also. A very nice man and always helpful and cheerful.

Dear Tim,Todd and families.

We have such great memories of your Dad. He was always a very encouraging friend. Probably the thing I most remember was the love he had for his family and his God. He was always so gentle in his treatment of people.

I know there is rejoicing in Heaven but we will miss him here. Our prayers are with you.
