Darlene K. Lester

Darlene passed away, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at her home in Plainwell. 

She was born November 29, 1945, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of William Sr. and Virginia (Prinz) Rockburn. For over 30 years Darlene was a florist at Harding’s Market in Otsego, until her retirement in 2014. 

In her free time Darlene loved gardening and collecting chicken statues she placed throughout her flower beds. She also enjoyed large scale and model trains and following NASCAR. On March 17, 1978, in Plainwell, she married Robert Lester who passed away June 14, 2024. 

Surviving are her children, Pam (Jim) King of Plainwell; Chris Hamelink of Plainwell; Glenda Pillars of Martin and Tammy Remar of Alaska; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister; Joan Hendricks of Gowen; aunt, Pat Nadeau along with many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Willam “Butch” Jr. (Nancy) Rockburn. and Bruce (Diane) Rockburn. 

According to her wishes cremation has taken place.
