To Conrad’s family, we are so saddened to see that Conrad has been called home. We got to know him and Maija several years ago and everyone called him “Corky”. What a great friend he became to us. Lost touch with him after he retired from Meijer’s, he would always find time to talk to us when he was at work. So sorry for your loss of such a great man! Rest in Peace our friend, and as always ” Thank you for your service” Blessings, Jim & Bonnie Hoffman

Mia and family: Who would have guessed that almost 49 years ago when Larry and I introduced you to each
other that you would become a family and have so many years of happiness? I’m so glad Stephany insisted you
sit right next to C;orky on the sofa that night you met. Children can be so perceptive and we should let them lead the way a bit more. I am so happy we introduced you to each other and so honored and blessed to have been
able to call you our friends for nearly 50 years. You have such a loving family and it shows that the two of you
were meant to be. We will all cherish those special times when we all went out dancing and shared time as a
large group of good friends. Corky will be missed but we can rest easy knowing we will all be reunited in time
and you two will see each other again. I love you all and will never forget Corky. Jan Myers Carpenter & Steve Carpenter

Maija, Marty, Mike, Michelle & families – Quick lighthearted story about Corky. It never failed that as soon as I got Grace a fish tank, he became Grace’s best friend. There usually wasn’t a day we went to Meijer and looked at fish and most of the time bought 1 or 2 (big tank). Well some of them got so big and beautiful, we would show Corky pictures of them and he and Grace would talk forever about them. I’ve know you all my whole life and our hearts and love are with you all today and always. He will always be a story we share with a smile. Love to you all. Lauri, Joel and Grace Krueger

I worked with and around Conrad for many years, leading up to his retirement from Meijer. He always had some funny stories to tell anyone willing to listen, I always was. He brought so much laughter into a room, just his presence made me smile. I just couldn’t bring myself to attend his funeral. I think of the friends I’ve lost from Meijer often, some moving on others passing on. They will remain with me always, tucked in a special place near my heart.
