Claudia J. Earl

Claudia passed away, Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. 

She was born February 7, 1949, in Plainwell, the daughter of David and Betty (LaRue) Mengel. For over 14 years she worked at Parker Hannifan until her retirement in 2011. 

Claudia loved horses and in her free time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and reading. Most of all she loved raising her children and spending time with her family. 

Surviving are her children, Joseph Earl of Plainwell and Brenda (Ken) Lapham of Otsego; grandchildren, Sabrina, Blake, Aaron and Dylon; great-grandchildren, Reed, Colton and Jayden; sister, Sandy Howrigon of Plainwell; brother, David “Edward” (Jonnie) Mengel of Alaska; several nieces and nephews and special friend of 70 years, Ruth Beam. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and good friend Jack Witt. 

According to her wishes cremation has taken place. 

A private family memorial will be held at a later time.
