Charlene Wenckowski of Otsego, Michigan, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007 at her home. Charlene was born March 2, 1950 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Roy and Barbara (Michienzi) Wenckowski. She attended John Orr High School in Chicago. Charlene was a member of St. Margaret’s Church and was a volunteer at St. Margaret’s School. She loved to cook and would bring meals to her friends at Baraga when needed. She was the best grandma ever, taking them to movies and watching over them. Surviving are a daughter Lisa (Dan) Smith, a son, Greg (Carol) Wenckowski, all of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren, Morgan, Corbin and Brittani; 2 sisters, Rochelle (Pascal) Ratajczak of Mandelein, IL, Judy (Billy) Engler of Mulberry, FL; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Martin Wenckowski. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where a Scripture Service will be held at 6 P.M. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Donald P. Klingler officiating. Contributions in memory of Charlene may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice.
