in Plainwell. Carolyne was born

July 22, 1923

, in Whiting,

Indiana

to William and Mary (Kortokrax) Holmes. For many years she was employed with Senior Citizens Services. Carolyne had been a member of St. Margaret’s

Church

of

Otsego

for many years and later St. Monica’s

Church

of

Kalamazoo

. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed music, loved watching ice skating, playing bingo, yard saling, watching dancing at Bresa Del Rio and being around water. Most of all she loved having her family around her. Many called her ‘Mom’ because she was so nurturing. Surviving are her children, David Lawrence of Kalamazoo, Michael (Cindy) Lawrence of Mancelona, Sheri (Ron) McDaniel of Otsego, Marilyne (Brian) Morlock of Kalamazoo, Tim Lawrence and Steven Lawrence, both of Portage; a son-in-law, Frank Clark of Portage; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Leon Holmes of Gobles; many nieces, nephews and special friends. Preceding her in death were an infant daughter, Cheryl; her daughter, Sandra Clark, in December of 2005; and an infant sister, Marilyne Holmes. Funeral services will be held at

10 A.M.

Wednesday at the

Winkel Funeral Home,

Otsego.

Burial will follow at St. Margaret’s Cemetery, Otsego. Contributions in memory of Carolyne may be made to St. Monica’s Catholic Church.
