Caroline Kling

Caroline F. ‘Carrie’ Kling of Otsego, Michigan passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at her home. She was born in Otsego June 27, 1921, the fifth of eleven children of Charles and Ida (Herbst) Kling and was a longtime resident of the area. For many years she was employed as a linotype operator with the Otsego Union before moving to Midland and working for the Daily News for 12 years. Carrie was a faithful member of Peace Ev. Lutheran Church where she had taught Sunday School. In her leisure time she enjoyed sewing and ceramics.

Surviving are her sister, Irene Haas, of Otsego, and Irene’s children, Gordon (Nora) Haas and Eda (Bill) McNees; a grandniece, Olivia (Craig) Orndorff of Harrisonburg, VA; a brother, Richard (Ann) Kling of Plainwell; sisters-in-law, Glenda Kling Of Olivet and Shirley Kling of Plainwell; a grandson, Cody (Dana) VanSparrentak and their son, Ebon, of Otsego; and a dear friend, Janet VanSparrentak; many nieces and nephews;.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters and 5 brothers, Esther (Bill) Peterson, Minna (Norman) Pike, Carl (Irma) Kling, Alice (Clare) Drake, Ray (Wanda) Kling, Ed Kling, Lenard (Patricia) Kling and Don Kling.

Friends may visit with Carrie’s family from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, January 5, 2015 at the

Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego

. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 6, 2015at

Peace Ev. Lutheran Church, Otsego

, Pastor Mark Gieschen officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego.

Contributions in memory of Carrie may be made to Peace Lutheran Church pavilion fund or

Wings of Hope Hospice

So sorry for your loss everyone. Aunt Carrie has a special place in my heart and will remain there forever. She always had a smile for you as long as you were “behaving” and if you weren’t, well you knew that too! 🙂 Her friendly motherly character always let me know she cared and I often felt that familiar welcoming whenever I stopped by to visit, during my year at M.L.S. or as I greeted her after church at Peace Lutheran. I will miss her to and know I will see her smiling, happy face once more in heaven as we worship together at Jesus’ feet one day. Blessings and Peace to all!

God saw you getting tired,
